Youth Ministries

Our ministry with teenagers includes the key components of Bible study, mission activity, and spiritual growth.

• All youth meet in the Youth Lounge (Room 301) for Sunday school and other activities.

Every summer, students in 8th-12th grade attend Passport.  Passport, Inc. is a nonprofit company whose goal is to work for integrated, ecumenical, and inspirational weeks of summer camp that model important lessons like service in the name of Christ. Our students travel for one week each summer to participate in missions, worship, and Bible Study with other students from across the eastern part of the country. While working through the week on various service projects, the students encounter the people of God everyday. They learn that there is much more to being a person of God than just showing up. The students also experience growth within themselves spiritually, coming home with a renewed spirit to share the love of Christ with those in their own community.

Along with Passport, our students participate in local missions with various service projects. We collect canned goods for our local food bank and do yard work for the elderly.

Our youth annually attend the NC Baptist Youth Handbell Festival, and from time to time we are fortunate that one of our young singers is selected to participate in the NC Baptist All-State Youth Choir. Our Youth Choir also has a working retreat during the late summer to kick off the new school year, a time of fellowship, bonding, worship, and music.

Our church offers many opportunities to the congregation for fellowship and recreation. The group participates in the Forest City recreational leagues for basketball and softball. All teams are co-ed and for ages high school and older.

Youth Choir offers young singers opportunities for musical, social, and spiritual development through worship leadership, festivals, and camps. The choir leads in worship once each month during the semester and at special seasonal occasions. They also participate in the annual CBFNC Youth Choir Festival.• Grades 7-12• Sunday evenings, 6:00-6:50• Blair Hall; Tony Spencer, director

Our Youth Handbell ensemble periodically leads in worship and participates annually in handbell festivals, such as the NC Baptist Youth Handbell Festival. They also have occasion to ring in other churches.
