Dedicated to the promotion of mission work in our community, in our country, and around our world, mission education at First Baptist Church supports this work through study groups, prayer groups, and personal action. There are opportunities for all ages.

This Ministry Team, formerly known as The Baptist Men, is now composed of both men and women who are enthusiastically involved in local mission projects.

We believe that the future of missionary activity will consist of small groups going out to impact the lives of other peoples through service and ministry as the body of Christ.

Every summer, students in 8th-12th grade attend Passport.  Passport, Inc. is a nonprofit company whose goal is to work for integrated, ecumenical, and inspirational weeks of summer camp that model important lessons like service in the name of Christ. Our students travel for one week each summer to participate in missions, worship, and Bible Study with other students from across the eastern part of the country. While working through the week on various service projects, the students encounter the people of God everyday. They learn that there is much more to being a person of God than just showing up. The students also experience growth within themselves spiritually, coming home with a renewed spirit to share the love of Christ with those in their own community.

Along with Passport, our students participate in local missions with various service projects. We collect canned goods for our local food bank and do yard work for the elderly.

Our Ministry Teams are designed to enable every single member to become a minister by recognizing, developing and utilizing their uniqueness and their spiritual giftedness for the glory of God.

The Friendship Club is a tutoring ministry that our church offers for second and third grade students attending Forest City Dunbar Elementary School. Each year the students are chosen by the teachers of the elementary school.
